Cape Spear is a headland located on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland and is the easternmost point in Canada. The oldest surviving lighthouse in the province provides a glimpse into the 19th century.

It aims to foster national heritage exploration, with the federal government (and some provincial governments) providing funding to offset lost revenue for participating institutions.
